Call for Presentations

The 2013 National Safety Council Texas Safety Conference & Expo

Galveston, TX * April 7-9, 2013

The National Safety Council invites you to submit a proposal for consideration as a presentation at the 2013 NSC Texas Safety Conference & Expo. The purpose of the NSC TSCE is to provide safety, health and environmental professionals with access to a high-quality yet affordable program that includes educational opportunities, networking events and an Expo floor. We look forward to your proposal submission as your knowledge and expertise would be a great asset to the strong educational component of our program.

Submission Deadline

Proposals must be submitted by Friday, October 5. Submissions will be reviewed by the TSCE Conference Program Committee and submitters will be notified of the Committee's decision by early November 2012.

Submission Requirements

  • Proposals must be submitten via the online application.
  • Speaker availability must be confirmed prior to proposal submission.
  • Proposals must detail what will be learned by attending the proposed session(s).
  • Proposals must be for either 60-, 75- or 90-minute presentations.
  • Proposals must be for presentation delivered as either a lecture or panel discussion (limit of 4 panelists per presentation).
  • Presentations that share new trends or a unique learning opportunity will be given special consideration.
  • Issues related to the Gulf Coast Region will be given special consideration.
  • Speakers are responsible for all expenses incurred. However, Speakers will receive a Full Conference & Expo registration, which includes access to the Expo Floor and Technical Sessions (access to the Professional Development Seminar held pre-Conference is not included).

 

Attendee Profile

Attendees include safety, health and environmental professionals of both private and public sector employers primarily from the Gulf Coast Region.

Submissions are encouraged from the following subject tracks:

  • Construction/Labor/Utilities
  • Emerging Issues
  • Fleet Driver & Transportation Safety
  • Management Leadership, Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Operational/Technical/Regulatory
  • Risk Reduction & Management
  • Safety Culture/Behavior-Based Safety
  • Training

    Education Levels

    Participants include the "newcomers" and the "veteran" professionals alike. All possess a varied level of experience and expertise. In order to meet the growing experience of our Attendees, special consideration will be given to submissions from the Intermediate and Advanced Categories.

 

Introductory

Geared toward the attendee who is:

• New to the safety industry and has had little or no training

• 1-3 years experience

Intermediate

Geared toward the attendee who:

• Has experience in the field and wants to build on it

• 4-9 years experience

Advanced

Geared toward the attendee who:

• Is considered a “seasoned” safety and health professional

• 10+ years experience
